About the Artist

Hugh Whittaker was born in Sydney in 1989 and has exhibited in “Extinction Denied” since 2002.  Although still a relatively fresh face on the art scene, Hugh has already been honoured with numerous awards for his works. They include winning the Mosman Youth Art Prize (painting) in 2003 and 2004, 1^st prize in the Peninsula Artfest in both 2000 and 2002, winner of the Centenary of Federation Art Prize, 2^nd prize in the Royal Easter Show in 1998 and was a finalist in the Black & White Artists Club Cartooning Award in 1999.
