About the Artist Grant Whiteley's abstractions are minimalist works, yet their layering of glazes and lineal structures present the viewer with a real intimacy. Grant started painting professionally in 1996 and he founded Art from the Heart. Following a stint as a life drawing teacher at Eden Art in Manly, Grant has had several solo and group exhibitions at Rex-Livingston Contemporary Fine Art, Chippendale, Soda Gallery, Avalon and the Palm Beach Art Gallery. In 2003 Grant was Art Director for the Australian feature film Right Hear Right Now and in 2004 was a finalist in the Cromwell’s Annual Art Prize. In 2006 Grant’s works were displayed in the Osier Gallery, Shanghai and in 2007 in the Secret Garden Exhibition in Palm Beach, Sydney. |
